Wedding Venue Questions

A substantial list of wedding venue questions is a must when planning a wedding. There are so many details to attend to that Couples can often be overwhelmed and seem to have more questions than answers. To help respond to some of these issues, I asked our Wedding Sales Director, Lauren Conklin what were some of the most frequently asked questions that she receives. To help you with your planning here is a list of these issues with the answers.

Can we have our wedding at Morningside Inn?

Yes!! We have a beautiful brick patio with a lovely pavilion overlooking our two ponds to have your outdoor wedding ceremony. And in the case of inclement weather, we can quickly and easily move your wedding ceremony inside.

Do you offer a Military Discount?

Yes!! As a thank you to those who serve our country we offer a $500 discount to members of the military and first responders as well.

Are you handicapped accessible?

Yes!! We have ramps built into access both the upstairs and lower level. However, we do not have an elevator.

Can we bring our alcohol?

Unfortunately no. According to Maryland State Law, all alcohol must be provided by the licensee (Morningside Inn). Frederick County is very strict on this issue, and they run spot checks. If you are looking for a particular brand or type of beverage, we can special order almost anything that you would want through our suppliers. Please check with our Wedding Coordinators if you have any special requests. They will be happy to help you find everything you need.

Can we bring in an outside caterer?

The answer to this one is no. We have an excellent catering staff on hand to handle all your needs. Our Chef, Timothy Erfourth, has been with us for 20 years creating memorable meals for all our functions. If you don’t see what you are looking for on our menu, he is always happy to work with you to fulfill special requests for just about any type of food from international to regional to comfort food.

Can we smoke on the property?

Yes! Smoking is allowed on the patio, and we have smoking stations set up outside all the doors. However, there is no smoking allowed inside the building.

Can we use real candles?

Yes!! We do allow the use of real candles as long as they are contained in a glass surround such as a hurricane lamp, votive, or another type of container to keep the flame safe.

Can my dog be in the ceremony?

Yes!! We welcome pets to be used in the wedding ceremony as long as they are placed in a crate after the wedding ceremony or taken to another facility after photos.

Where do I obtain a Marriage License?

Marriage licenses are obtained from the Frederick County Court House, 100 West Patrick Street, Frederick, MD 2170. We can’t help you with that, but we can help you find someone to perform the ceremony. Feel free to ask for recommendations from our Wedding Coordinators.
